The University of Salamanca carefully sets the entry requirements for its Master programs to select candidates of the highest academic and professional caliber. The following criteria apply:
- An undergraduate degree in areas that match and/or provide an adequate background for the selected concentration.
- A statement of purpose.Give a brief statement outlining your reasons for undertaking a graduate program, your interest in a particular area of specialization, your past academic work, and your plans for future occupation or profession. No more than two pages.
- A satisfactory level of mastering of the English language is required. If the candidate’s undergraduate training has not been in English or if his/her mother tongue is not English, the University of Salamanca may require an English as a Foreign Language Test. If the applicant belongs to a partner institution of our Global and International Studies Program, that institution is responsible fortesting the candidate’s English proficiency.
- At least two letters of recommendation. These letters should contain the following kinds of information:
- circumstances under which the referee has known the student.
- the referee’s evaluation of the student’s overall intellectual ability (e.g., analytical power, critical facility, theoretical skills); independence of thought (e.g., insight, imagination, creativity); effectiveness of communication, oral and written; motivation, persistence, self-discipline, thoroughness, etc., and
- the referee’s assessment of the student’s long run, overall probable contribution.
- the referee should send the letters directly to our Graduate Advisor at mjohnson@usal.es or at johnsonglobalstudies@gmail.com.
- Resume or Curriculum Vitae.
- Student Visas: To be processed by the Spanish Consulate after receiving a letter of acceptance from the University of Salamanca.
