Emily Carty

Emily Carty is currently a member of the faculty in the Center for Global and International Studies at the University of Salamanca. She holds a PhD in Political Science at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, where she also obtained a Certificate in Survey Methodology from the Odum Institute. She received a double-BA in Spanish and International Studies with a concentration in Latin America from Louisiana State University, and a MA in International Studies with concentrations in Comparative Politics, Political Participation, and International Development from the University of Denver.


Her research lies primarily within the fields of political psychology, political behavior, and survey methodology. Her current projects are on topics related to public opinion, identity, and political participation as it relates to political leaders. She has designed and implemented surveys in Spain, Argentina, and the United States.​
