Alejandro Amigo Tossi

Alejandro Amigo Tossi has extensive expertise in international security, strategic studies, and conflict analysis. He is a PhD student in Political Science at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. He holds a Master's degree in Security Studies from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Military Sciences from the Chilean Army War College.
Alejandro has held significant academic roles internationally, serving as a Visiting Professor at the University of Salamanca since 2019, Assistant Professor at the United States Army War College from 2021 to 2023, and Visiting Professor at the Chilean National Academy of Political and Strategic Studies, among others. His teaching has focused on terrorism, strategic leadership, conflict prevention, and regional studies.
His research experience includes positions at the Centre for the Responsibility to Protect, University of Toronto, Canada and the International Peace Institute, New York City. His main research projects has focused on UNASUR's conflict prevention role, national security, cybersecurity, and peacekeeping operations. Alejandro's scholarly contributions are published in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters, addressing topics such as cybersecurity threats, intrastate conflicts, and international peace operations.
Alejandro served in various leadership and strategic roles within the Chilean Army, and receiving distinctions including the Meritorious Service Medal from the United States Army War College.
