Pablo PARDO, the US Bureau Chief of El Mundo.

Pablo PARDO is the US Bureau Chief of El Mundo (Spain’s second largest daily newspaper) since 2014, and a columnist in the newspaper with his column Animal Spirits (Espíritus Animales) on international economics, every Monday. He is a weekly contributor to the Colombian tv station NTN24 show Club de Prensa, that it is broadcasted to Latin America, and a columnist in the Spanish monthly financial magazine Consejeros and the website The Corner ( Since 2014 he has worked as a consultant for financial institutions on international economics. Pardo as likewise published articles in The AtlanticNational Geographic, and The Weekly Standard, among others. He is the author of the book El Monstruo. Memorias de un Interrogador (Libros del K.O., 2011), on the experiences of Iraq and Afghanistan veteran Pfc. Damien Corsetti. He has been interviewed by CNN InternationalBBC AmericasFox News, and Deutsche Welle, among others. He is a member of the Advisory Council of the Hispanic Council, and from 2009 to 2013 he was a board member of the Washington European Society. He has won four awards for his work as journalist, three of them in Spain (Citi Journalism Excellence Award, Joven y Brillante de Periodismo Económico, and Centenario de la Seguridad Social), and one in the United States (Fisher Award, given by the Atlas Network). He holds a B.A. in Journalism from the Universidad de Navarra (Spain) and a Masters of Arts (MA) in International Politics and Economics from the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University. He has also studied at the School of Continuing Education at Columbia University and the London School of Economics (LSE).
