Joel Clark, University of California. Internship Coordinator and Student Professional Development
Joel Clark, Ph.D. earned his Ph.D. in Political Science (Political Theory, Public Policy) at the University of California, Santa Barbara. His M.A. work at Colorado State combined International Relations and Political Theory. Joel’s past research work includes political ethics and reform, including campaign finance and term limits, and states’ activities in international affairs. Joel has also devoted much professional time to global experiential education, especially internships. His publications include two books, Intern to Success and Careers in Political Science. Joel also regularly teaches an online global professional development course for University of California, Berkeley which enrolls 250-300 students each term who are interning in major cities including Madrid, London, Mumbai, Dublin, Singapore and San Francisco. His past work in higher education includes serving as director of undergraduate programs in Public and International Affairs at George Mason University, and directing Washington, DC university internship programs for University of California, University of North Carolina, and University of Mississippi.
